Reducing the scale and cost of reconnaissance campaigns for soils contaminated by radioactivity by relying on modelling tools, while ensuring relevant characterization, is the objective of the Kri-Terres project, led by Mines ParisTech. To this end, it brings together the complementary disciplines of three scientific institutions: Armines geostatistics (Mines ParisTech); flow modelling and simulations of the Institute for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN); the characterization of soil properties of the Géosciences Paris Sud laboratory (GEOPS).
